Language is a grid on reality. I am striving to create images that transcend explanation, a moment of seeing where
the intangible becomes palpable, visually to take the viewer with me off the grid.

I create ever larger collage on canvas and paper using pencil, ink, oil and a lifetime of drawings cut and torn, layered into text,
my own, or the gift of random lines that haunt and continue to inspire. I strive towards a line defying geometry, an insight into
space that doesn’t line up with the shorthand of everyday vision. Playing in that space before what we perceive as real
solidifies into the concrete I aspire to have my recurring images of horses, boots, musical instruments, most importantly
faces and women’s bodies zoom past the representational into the realm of poetic realism…

Pamela Enz is an award winning playwright, filmmaker and visual/performance artist. She is the recipient of two fellowships
from the Edward F. Albee foundation, three PEN Writer grants ,a Franklin Furnace Emerging Performance award, support
from Women Make Movies, and was the first recipient of the Tennessee Williams One Act Play Award. Ms. Enz was also
the Artistic Director of the Salon Series at Gallery One in Soho where she brought together visual artists, poets, a novelist,
composers, opera singers and others in multidisciplinary collaborations, In recognition of the program’s success Poet
and Writers offered funding to continue. Her work has been performed at the 92St Y, Ensemble Studio Theatre, the Gene
Frankel Theater,, Circle Rep, WBAI radio and on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Anna Deveare Smith ...
As a visual artist Ms Enz has recently exhibited at Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton, Tin Garage in Tarrytown, Art Gotham,
Chashama, and Emergency Arts (named Best Art Collective in NYC by the Village Voice) as well as locations in Paris
and Corfu, Greece. She has been invited most recently to participate as one eight artists worldwide in a drawing relay
“Play the Panorama “ .
